Philip Kurstjens started playing electric guitar at the age of seven. He had lessons from Stephan Jankowski for 8 years at the Zeister music school after which he was accepted at the Junior Jazz College of the Conservatory of Amsterdam.
Philip is now 20 years old and studies Jazz Guitar at the CvA where he has lessons from Maarten vd Grinten, Martijn van Iterson and Jesse van Ruller. He is a great lover of all kinds of styles such as pop, rock, jazz and metal.
In 2018 Philip founded the metal band Ríona. He also writes his own music in different styles. Previously mainly in pop, now more in jazz. Philip is a real guitar lover and likes to share this passion with others. Also in his lessons.
